Description: This mini license plate was manufactured for Post cereal for their inaugural set of cereal plates. Their company had plates made for an instant chocolate drink mix in 1959 and that program had been a success. 14 years after their rival General Mills had produced their final set of plates, Post cereal decided to give it a shot. This is a very well made steel miniature scale reproduction of a license plate that was included in boxes of post cereal, and was also available through the mail as a set. In part for their age, but also because these seem to be much more difficult to find than their late-70s and 80s counterparts. I have collected mini license plate items since the mid-1970s, and have a collection numbering well over 3,000 items. I am slowly getting into turning this into a business to feed my habit. I am not new to eBay; I have been buying and selling on this website since 1996 - this is a new I.D., not a new seller. My prime motivation here is to offer collectors a safe-haven store with realistic pricing and a bit of good education in down-home honest dealing. It might also help these other sellers with no knowledge in the subject to more realistically price their items.
