Description: This is for an original program from the December 10 1961 game between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants which was held at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. The two teams would be battling to see who would sit atop the Eastern Conference, and the Giants would spoil the day with a 28-24 victory over the Eagles. This would be the first “Fog Bowl” played by the Eagles as the weather made it nearly impossible for the fans in the stands to get a good look at the action taking place on the field. On this day though, Tommy McDonald would catch 7 passes for 237 yards, including touchdowns of 52 and 30 yards along with a 66 yard bomb which is a record that still stands today in a pass happy football league. Only 5 Eagles have ever surpassed 200 yards and McDonalds 237 on this day still stands as the team record. Program is in nice shape and the ticket is “back taped” to the cover with the score written in pencil. Check out the scans and email with any questions.
