Description: $900 Coin World Trends as of this posting (click the fourth image). The elusive "Big One" not to be confused with far more minor Doubled Dies. The most significant and dramatic of all Roosevelt dime Doubled Dies and one of just three listed in Coin World Trends and the Red Book (62nd ed), this being the only obverse Doubled Die. Very strong doubling on all obverse letters and numbers including the all-important date and designer's initials; all other Roosevelt Doubled Dies have very minor date doubling. There is nothing else like it! Many have auctioned for $1,000-plus including a mere PR65 (click the fifth image). But some have slipped through cheaply because the Cherrypickers' Guide changed the number from FS-015 to FS-102. Yet, the variety is still as rare as ever with just 153 certified in ALL grades and designations combined, and some of those mere 153 are actually duplications of the same coins. Curiously, none have ever received a CAMEO or DEEP CAMEO designation from PCGS or NGC. Maximum mintage 3,000 based on contemporary die life although the tiny numbers in the population reports suggest a far lower production because the Doubled Die is extremely easy to spot. No set of Roosevelt dimes will ever be truly complete without this king of all Doubled Dies. But the tiny 153 total PCGS population is hardly enough to satisfy the 150 million U.S. coin collectors tallied by the Mint -- and some of those mere 153 are resubmissions or crossovers of the same coins. Thus, literally fewer than one in a million collectors will ever be able to own a PCGS-certified specimen. NOTE: STOCK PHOTOS POSTED! You will receive the nicest of two or more in stock.
