I have a big problem with eBay's condition 'choices'. So, go by the grade and description I am giving and not by what I have chosen from eBay's 'choices', because those choices in most cases are an example of overgrading. For example, a card I would call VG, which can still be attractive in spite of some rounding to the corners and a light crease, fits into eBay's opinion of Excellent, while their opinion of VG is a card with moderate to heavy damage all over. To me, honest wear is NOT damage. To repeat, go by the condition I state in the title and description and not by a choice the listing process forced me to make. This is the 1922 American Caramel E120 Series of 240 card of Bob O'Farrell, a catcher for his entire 21 years in the big leagues, all in the National League. The first ten were spent with the Cubs, until an early-season trade in 1925 to the St Louis Cardinals. He was the National League's Most Valuable Player in 1926, helping to lead the Cards to the pennant and a World Series victory. O'Farrell was a career .273 hitter. His best year at the plate was the year this card was issued, 1922, when he slashed .324/.439/441.He is more than just a common in a relatively large set of cards for the 1920s, with 120 players from each league. It's unfortunate that this card of a good player has a technical grade of Poor. It does have the three punch holes, a spot of writing in pencil and a thumbnail-sized stain. Minus those, it's a VG card with a very clean back. Slabbed as a PSA 1 or SGC 1, it's probably a $70 card or more. Tracked and insured for $6.90.
