Description: I compared the cap and guard to a 1920’s Old Type and this one definitely carries a lower profile and is thinner. Its efficiency is comparable to the Gillette Bulldog but as always YMMV. The top cap has light scratches and a brass spot in the center. The stabilizer pins are solid with light brass spots on the underside. The open comb guard bears the serial #P231710. The open comb is in stellar condition with healthy teeth. The minimal fissures on each end of the handle bears no negative impact on the quality of your shave and is very common with these handles. The knurling is in great condition and the Nov 15.04 patent stamp is on the smooth collar. The razor has a nice finish and all three pieces mate together perfectly. It has been cleaned and sanitized. The case is worn and it’s anybody’s guess what it has been through. It’s tattered, spotted, loose threads and stitches, misaligned, and it won’t close. It does have history on its side. There is a bonus with the mirror being intact and in relatively good shape. The set includes a vintage silver tone Gillette blade bank with one Gillette Blade.
