Description: I have for sale a political token for the 1896 United States Presidential Campaign, also known as Bryan money. William Jennings Bryan was the democratic candidate and William McKinley was the republican candidate. Bryan advocated the free coinage of silver, and to be standard money with gold at the ratio of 16 to 1. McKinley endorsed a single standard of gold. McKinley won the election and became our 25th president. This token is made of cast metal, it is 3 1/8 inches in diameter and in a mid grade condition, & it is very dark. On one side it shows Liberty and has the year 1896. The other side has an eagle in the center with branches below. It reads at the rim UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and next to the eagle 16 TO 1 & NIT (not in trust) Please see over 950 more collectibles for sale in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables. (19,108 TRRA)
