Original end papers present and are clean with no owner names and no bookplates. The internal pages are all present and overall very clean with with no stains, no foxing, no handling marks, and no bent page. Fold out map to the back of the book present. The second book of The Steam House series, the book is in matching brown cloth with stunning vibrant gilt. The book has clean cloth with no edgewear, and the binding is tight and square. The unrestored book has the original end papers present with a neat inscription dated from 1881 (year of publication), and a small adhesive stain likely from a removed bookplate.
