At some point in time, someone put new screws into the hinges linking the back of the bonnet to the table. Unfortunately, the screws were too long for the wood. Based on the thickness of the wood, I believe the screws were 3/4" in length. As a result, the ends of these screws went through the bonnet leaving a metal point on the back side of the bonnet. When the bonnet was opened to form a sewing table, these metal points dug into the table top leaving small indentations. Later, these screws were replaced by 5/8" screws, but 4 small holes on the table top and 4 small holes on the back of the bonnet remained. These holes were filled in with some form of dark putty. I am tempted to keep this machine but alas, I have too many already. Local pick-up. If you want it shipped: The buyer will need to arrange to have a mover transport the treadle.
