Description: According to research made freely available by Bill Bugert, this W-14 1861 O Liberty Seated Half Dollar makes use of the bisected date, obverse die 6, for the second time, as well as the reverse die second use. The only other coin with this reverse die is the W-15 which has a different obverse. W-13 has the same obverse but no speared bud reverse. Both of those coins are an R2. This coin, the W-14 which is altogether an R4 (less than 200 known) is VERY scarce in grades above VF. Altogether, this coin is scarcer than the well known CSA Obverse W-11.
