Description: Rare original Victorian copy of The Family Aquarium, or, Aqua Vivarium: A "New Pleasure" for the Domestic Circle: Being a Familiar and Complete Instructor Upon the Subject of the Construction, Fitting-Up, Stocking, and Maintenance of the Fluvial and Marine Aquaria or "River and Ocean Gardens." The book is overall in good condition with some signs of wear and age. There is no printed publishing date, but the preface & Act of Congress page are both dated 1858. The book has been professionally rebacked at some point in the past, retaining most of the original spine covering. The covers have some minor soiling and wear and may have possibly had a little restoration work at some point in the past. The binding is good and tight. The interior is lightly toned from age with some foxing & staining. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection, such as a tiny chip or tear, creased page corner, light bit of soiling, etc. Generally though, it's a good copy. The book measures approximately 7 1/2 inches by 4 3/4 inches and is 121 pages long with a hand colored frontispiece and some additional pages of ads at the rear. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
