This stamp is supposed to be perforated all the way around, but two sides were cut off some time ago. The W11 cancel is from within the Notting Hill or North Kensington area of London. As can be seen in the pictures, the vertical side engravings do not have any plate numbers contained within them, which leads to the 1850s for printing. This stamp has the Large Crown (shown as an example in the pictures above) as a watermark, and appears to be Die II. The coloration of rose red is proven by the pictures of the color guide and the stamp together. Reference material is the Stanley Gibbons guide itself and after reading the descriptions, everything on this stamp points to it being either SG #36, or, #40. Postage is set to $3.50 for a tracking number. If you’d like to make this cheaper, and don’t mind not having a tracking number, send a message prior to payment so this offer can be changed to accommodate. The postage will become $1.10 for two stamps. Thank you for looking and check back often for more interesting items. When you’ve got time, check out my other stamps for sale; there are a lot.
