Description: 1839 DRAPERY SEATED LIBERTY HALF DOLLAR NGC MS 62 SMOOTH AND BLEMISH FREE SURFACES IN SHIMMERY SILVER WITH A FAINT BIT OF PEWTER AND VANILLA. Well struck for the most part, with a bit of a flat spot at the Eagle's left leg, talon, and arrow feathers, the price paid for a well struck corresponding area on the obverse. First year of issue for this very long running series. The mintage of all 1839 Seated Halves was 1,972,000, and was comprised of both the "Drapery From Elbow" variety, and the " No Drapery" variety. While there is a huge difference in the price tags for thes two, the populations at both top TPGs don't seem to support such a spread. Nice coin.
