Description: Mostly glossy light olive and steel brown mottled with reddish chocolate. There are a couple fine vertical scratches in the field before the portrait and traces of microscopic roughness in the field at stars 10-13. The only other mark is a planchet flake on the right side of star 10. Rare terminal die state with a cud break from star 8 to star 9, and this cud reaches inside the dentil tips nearly touching star 9. Not in the overall census for the variety but second finest of those known with the cud break. Comes with a very nice provenance.Ex; Dr. George P. French, B. Max Mehl 1929 FPL, lot 555 - James G.
