Description: Considered one of the greatest debates of ancient times, the orations of the title refer to the defense of Ctesiphon for claims the he had offered power and accolades to Demonsthenes, an orator and politician, without due cause. The charges were brought by Aeschines and the transcribed debate is presented herein, in Greek. The notes on the text, translations and so forth are presented by Alexander Negris, the first instructor of Modern Greek at Harvard. There are notes throughout the text where someone was attempting to translate it and the paper has darkened due to age. The front board is literally hanging by a string but present and otherwise in good condition. the edges and corners are scuffed. The head and tail not the spine are missing.
