Description: This handsome 17th century survivor is entirely hand wrought from iron with original lock and a hinge that was replaced in the 1700's. Measuring 6" tall x 5 3/4" wide x 3 1/2" deep. it has a most unusual curved back and face and the top coin receiver is lined with fine chain mail to prevent coins being shaken out. Perhaps most unusually, the box appears to retain original or very early painted surface in red with black striping and heraldic emblems on the face and one side. There is very faint writing in black on the back: I'm not sure if it is historic. The box is locked and there is no key. WE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY TO SHIP WORLDWIDE IF ALLOWED BY USPS.
