This beautiful Case measures approx. 3 3/4" x 3 1/4” (outer measurements) and the interior opening accommodates one 1/6 Plate size Image. The molded design on the front and rear of the Case are identical and features ROSES & HOLLY. This image has flourishes in the corners. The Case is chocolate brown in color and exceptionally attractive. The design is designated as Berg No. 2-51 and titled "Rose and Holly”. The Case contains a wondeful Daguerrreotype featuring a CLASSICALLY STYLED WOMAN. Scratch on finish. This rare and original, 1850's Case is in very good condition. The molded images on both sides are crisp and sharp with light wear. The surfaces retain their original surface shine with some dust present; Case could use a detailed cleaning. No corner chips.
